"In Kripalu Yoga you learn many of the same postures as in other yoga classes, but the emphasis is not only on how you practice, but also on how you live your life." Brahmani Holly Liebman

Kripalu Yoga
People come to yoga for a variety of reasons. Some are
interested in managing stress, many are looking for a
way to improve their health, others are seeking spiritual
growth. Kripalu Yoga offers all of these benefits to those
who develop a regular practice by uniting the mind,
body, and spirit.
Brought to America in the 1960's Kripalu Yoga is a
traditional Hatha Yoga practice based on foundational
postures whose roots date back thousands of years. It
has evolved into a practice that virtually anyone can
do including those with limited strength, energy and
flexibility and encourages involvement in your own
healing. It can be learned in the comfort and privacy
of your home and requires only a moderate amount of
time to receive its many benefits.
Kripalu Yoga is not a religion and it does not require that you embrace any religious tenets.
While certainly it has a spiritual aspect you don't have to subscribe to any particular beliefs
to benefit from it. It is not necessary to have the mind of a mystic, the body of a gymnist, or
the spirituality of a monk. Kripalu Yoga is much more about the practice than it is the theory
and to understand this simple fact you must do it.
